9.28.4.4. Self-Furring Devices
(1) stucco lath shall be held not less than 6 mm away from the backing by means of suitable self-furring devices.

Self-furring devices, which hold stucco lath slightly away from the substrate, must meet the requirements set out in this article, allowing the first stucco coat to fully key into the lath.
